Adenovirus type-A virus that can cause respiratory tract infections. Angiography-a procedure that uses X-rays after injection of a radiopaque substance to examine the blood and lymph vessels. An arrhythmia-irregular heartbeat or action. Cardiac catheterization-a diagnostic procedure that gives a comprehensive review of how the heart and blood vessels function; achieved by inserting one or more catheters in a peripheral blood vessel in the arm or leg. Coxsackie B virus-A Benin belonging to a group of viruses that can produce a variety of diseases, including myocarditis. Echocardiography-A noninvasive diagnostic procedure that uses ultrasound to examine internal cardiac structures. Electrocardiogram, a record of the heart's electrical activity, with each wave being labeled as P, Q, R, S, T and waves. Often used in the diagnosis of cases of abnormal heart rhythm and myocardial damage. Hypertensive heart disease blood pressure resulting in a high-heart disease. Blood ischemic heart disease, insufficient to the heart muscle. Valvular heart disease illness in any of four valves that controls blood flow into, through and out of the heart. Ventricular tachycardia – An abnormally fast heartbeat. The tissue sample is examined for the presence of the disease, and to try to determine the infectious cause. An approach used only with the consent of the patient, this procedure may also confirm acute myocarditis, allowing close monitoring of potential congestive heart failure.
